Pipe Yard Manager

PROBLEM SOLVING:    Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems, policies or products to enhance performance of job area.  Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems are difficult and moderately complex. Problems typically impact multiple departments or specialties. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.   Has autonomy and authority to define solutions to non-routine problems within established operational boundaries and procedures.       JOB DUTIES:    Oversees the reorganization and reconfiguration of the yard.   Ensure associates operate powered industrial equipment according to Safety Operating Guidelines and FEI Safety Policies.  Manage and develop inventory and planning teams as assigned.  Develops and recommends improvements in pipe yard practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.   Has authority to approve budgeted expenditures and has direct oversight of established budgets. May collaborate with next level management to develop and recommend budgets.  Oversees the operation of motorized and non motorized material handling equipment in a safe manner.   Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures.  Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies and guidelines to the management team.  Conduct regular associate meetings.  Represent the organization to customers, associates and leadership as needed.       ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    Adhering to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.  Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.       BUSINESS ACCOUNTABILITIES    ASSOCIATE AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT:    Has direct responsibility for the formal supervision of all Pipe Yard associates.      Supports enterprise business and sales objectives through the effective and efficient performance of individual responsibilities and supervision of associates.      BUDGET OVERSIGHT:    May have authority to approve  budgeted expenditures within established limits or has oversight of a portion of an established budget. Has no expenditure budget setting responsibilities.       QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS    PRIOR EXPERIENCE:    A minimum of five (5) years of experience is typically required to perform at expectation. Applies advanced knowledge of specific technical areas. TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:    Ability to organize and prioritize work.  Ability to effectively communicate in writing.  Ability to effectively communicate verbally.  Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups.  Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.  Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets and mobile devices.  Ability to effectively utilize FEI's inventory and logistics system (Trilogie).  Ability to effectively operate motorized and/or manual lifting devices.  Certification in applicable motorized equipment required (i.e. Forklift, Reach Truck, Pallet Jack, Picker, etc.).     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions and temperatures.  Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.   Requires walking, bending, and/or squatting.  Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.  Occasionally requires carrying objects that are up to 50 lbs by hand. Occasionally requires carrying objects that are 50 lbs or more using equipment. R-46135

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
