Pipe Yard Manager

Job Description:
The Warehouse and Distribution Center job family manages the storage, transport and distribution of equipment, materials and products sold and produced by the organization. General areas of responsibility include receiving supplier shipments; picking customer orders; shipping, transportation and delivery of materials and customer orders; and inventory organization, management and control. Positions in the pipe yard are responsible for the efficient use of the organization's storage and distribution facilities.
Manages a team with focus on policy and strategy implementation. Establishes operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function. Focus is on short to mid-term operational plans (e.g., 1 to 2 years). Provides measurable input to new products, processes or standards in operational plans that will have some impact on the achievement of overall function results. Typically does not have expenditure budget or profit and loss accountability, but may manage certain processes or projects within a defined budget set by management.
Responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems, policies or products to enhance performance of job area. Problems and issues faced are numerous and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems are difficult and moderately complex. Problems typically impact multiple departments or specialties. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues. Has autonomy and authority to define solutions to non-routine problems within established operational boundaries and procedures.
Oversees the reorganization and reconfiguration of the yard.
Ensure associates operate powered industrial equipment according to Safety Operating Guidelines and FEI Safety Policies.
Manage and develop inventory and planning teams as assigned.
Develops and recommends improvements in pipe yard practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
Has authority to approve budgeted expenditures and has direct oversight of established budgets. May collaborate with next level management to develop and recommend budgets.
Oversees the operation of motorized and non motorized material handling equipment in a safe manner.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
Participate in leadership meetings and represent associate concerns, policies and guidelines to the management team.
Conduct regular associate meetings.
Represent the organization to customers, associates and leadership as needed.
Adhering to all policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.
Has direct responsibility for the formal supervision of all Pipe Yard associates.
Supports enterprise business and sales objectives through the effective and efficient performance of individual responsibilities and supervision of associates.
May have authority to approve budgeted expenditures within established limits or has oversight of a portion of an established budget. Has no expenditure budget setting responsibilities.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience is typically required to perform at expectation. Applies advanced knowledge of specific technical areas.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups.
Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets and mobile devices.
Ability to effectively utilize FEI's inventory and logistics system (Trilogie).
Ability to effectively operate motorized and/or manual lifting devices.
Certification in applicable motorized equipment required (i.e. Forklift, Reach Truck, Pallet Jack, Picker, etc.).
Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions and temperatures.
Requires exposure to minor burns, cuts, bites, or stings.
Requires walking, bending, and/or squatting.
Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls.
Occasionally requires carrying objects that are up to 50 lbs by hand.
Occasionally requires carrying objects that are 50 lbs or more using equipment.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
